Spinward Fringe Broadcast 8: Renegades Release Date!

I just finished writing the end of Spinward Fringe Broadcast 8: Renegades. It's not the ending I expected when I started writing the book, but I think it's so much better. No spoilers here except to say that I'm very pleased.

Now that I know I'm happy with the ending and I've spoken to everyone else involved with the production of this book, I can make another announcement.

The book is still in need of another edit, and I'll be working on that with Sylvie as well as another editing partner. Then it will be sent off to one formatter for Ebook distribution, and another for print. The distributors will have to approve it after that. They will point out technical issues (if there are any), and we'll fix 'em then be ready.

After adding some wiggle room for schedule snafus, I'm setting the release date of the Ebook version of Renegades for Friday, March 21, 2014 for $4.99 through Amazon, Smashwords, the iBookstore (Apple), Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Sony Reader Store, Diesel, Page Foundry, Flipkart, Scribd, and Oyster.

Sadly, there will be no freebie codes or preview editions.

There will also be a special release through my own website that will include exclusive digital bonuses and a version of the Ebook for all readers. The Special Release will cost exactly the same as the normal Ebook version of Renegades, but it will only be available through www.spinwardfringe.com.

There will be a signed print edition available in April as well, and that will include the same content as the Special Release on a USB key that will ship with the signed printed book.

So, again, Renegades will be released on Friday, March 21, 2014 in Ebook form and in print sometime in April.

Thank you so much for buying my books and supporting me, I hope this book isn't surpassed by it's hype. It's something I'm proud of and I hope you all enjoy it!

RL

Great news, looking forward to it. Had almost given up checking this site as it hadn't been updated in so long so this is a very pleasant surprise!

Time to re-read the prior books in preparation.

Cannot wait.....spinward fringe was a great surprise when I read Broadcast 0 for free on Amazon. I was hooked.....luckily when I discovered the series the broadcasts were up to 6 so I was able to live in the amazing universe Loland created. I had almost given up hope that the Spin ward universe would be given the conclusion it deserves. I agree with everyone else here, the publishing date of 8 can't come soon enough.

I am a big fan of this series and just want to say thank you for writing them. I read #7 in two days and have reread the whole series twice waiting for this one. I hope that you will write sci-fi for years to come you have become one of my favorite writers along side Iain M. Banks(R>I>P>), Alastair Reynolds, & Ken Macleod, just to name a few. Again Thanks

Aaaron Smart asked...

"Are all of your books available in print ...?"

Not all the books are available in print at the moment. The editions that you can buy are distributed through Amazon. http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=randolph+lalonde

Sometime this summer my personal store should be back up with signed copies of a few of the books as well, but I ship from Canada, so they're a bit pricier.

Thank you of asking!

Is this the last book in the series or will there be more? I surely hope there will be more!

There will be more! This book follows the main characters through events that lead to the great galactic war, so there will be at least two books after this that take place during the war.

Since you already answered that this won't be the last book in the series, you have made me very happy. I stumbled on your books through iBooks recommendation and have become obsessed with the series. I'm excited that this is a continuing story, thank you for the experience.

I am about to finish Broadcast 8 and will look forward to B9... I am originally not a great sci-fi fan but got hooked up on Spinward Fringe series from the Origins. I read it every evening instead of watching TV. Oh, about that:
Have you considered making TV series of it?! Something like the StarTrek series used to be, just in all modern, metallic & shiny?
Take your time with nr. 9 and don't let yourself to be rushed!!! :-) We will be here when it's ready.

Thank you!!
