Spinward Fringe Broadcast 16: Hunters Release Date and Pre-orders!

I'm writing the final chapters of Spinward Fringe: Hunters right now, and, while it's great to finally arrive at a finish line that I've been looking to since the beginning of Broadcast 15: Pursuit, I think I'll miss this story. Right now Patreon Subscribers are enjoying two new chapters a week, and they're getting the first look at this book.

I understand not everyone likes to read their fiction in a serialized format, so the editors and I are already working to get the final, complete EBook in good shape and out as soon as possible. We're aiming for an April 17 release date, and it looks like we'll hit it. Much of the editing work is actually finished, and I'm starting my final pass on the book.

In Spinward Fringe Broadcast 16: Hunters Admiral Jacob Valent unearths secrets about the Haven System's history as he looks for the Order of Eden forces hiding in the Cluster, a group of ninety-seven solar systems surrounding his new home star. Alice and Noah continue their adventure by attempting to make good on a promise she made at the end of Broadcast 15: Pursuit; to commit grand piracy against the Order of Eden with the cooperation of their new allies. The fight against the Order of Eden and other enemies continues as our heroes face new challenges and dire consequences.

While this has been one of the most challenging Spinward Fringe novels to write, it's also been a great deal of fun. I've enjoyed it so much that I'll be starting work on Broadcast 17 shortly.

I invite you to pre-order Spinward Fringe Broadcast 16: Hunters so you can join me and the crew on this journey. You can also look forward to an in-depth podcast to accompany the release of this book. Now, it's time for me to get back to work on the last two chapters of Broadcast 16: Hunters.

Spinward Fringe Rebel Will Be Released On March 21, 2020

That's right, the release date is being moved up by months, since this book was finished on time and is already in the hands of some Patreon Subscribers. They had the pleasure of reading two chapters a week as a serial until the book was completed a couple weeks ago.

On March 21, 2020, the full EBook will be available everywhere quality ebooks are sold. You can already preorder the book everywhere to make sure you have a copy as soon as possible. (Except for Amazon, who will have the book on the 21st, there just isn't a way to preorder it through them).

Spinward Fringe: Rebel takes the series back to its roots, offering minute by minute action while exploring what makes the characters tick. It's an action packed adventure that brings storylines, characters and enemies together in an epic conflict.

Warriors, Broadcast 13 Release Date!

Spinward Fringe Broadcast 13: Warriors will be available on Amazon, the Apple Books (iTunes, iBooks), Smashwords, Barnes & Noble Nook, Kobo and other major ebook platforms on Saturday, December 7, 2019! The print version will be available at the same time through Amazon.

This novel was serialized on Patreon from beginning to end this year, so subscribers were able to read two chapters a week. I think that improved the writing, giving every chapter more focus. If something looked like it might not be entertaining enough to stand on its own, it didn't make it in. Even less action oriented parts of the tale featured more character development, providing a real dive into one of the main character's heads. I hope to continue and evolve this style, since I think it's what a lot of readers who want to get something out of reading for fifteen minutes at a time want.

I'm happy with the work I did on this novel and am proud to put it out there so you can read it in its entirety. This one also comes with a three chapter preview for Broadcast 14: Rebel, which is already being released at a rate of two chapters a week to subscribers on my Patreon page.

I hope you enjoy the character journies you'll find here! You can pre-order using any of the links below.

Spinward Fringe Broadcast 11: Revenge Release Date

Spinward Fringe Broadcast 11: Revenge is finished. The release date is set of May 14th.

Weighing in at a little over 140,000 words, and 70 chapters this is one of the largest books in the series. The majority of the novel takes place during one week and follows Alice, Jacob and a new Order of Eden character with an interesting pedigree named Dron.

It took a long time to work this novel out, especially since there was a lot of research to do, decisions to make about the next set of books, and an entire novel that was supposed to be split between Broadcast 10 and 11 didn't work unless it was pulled out and released on its own (Carnie's Tale, Broadcast 10.5).

Thank you to everyone who stuck around while I finished this and two other books. I hope you enjoy the story!

Spinward Fringe Broadcast 11: Revenge Expands With A New Novella

Approximately one month passes between Spinward Fringe Broadcast 10: Freeground and Broadcast 11: Revenge. During that month Alice is still in the Haven Fleet Academy Apex Program, and there was one story that didn't fit in Broadcast 10 that I wanted to finish. It fits right into the middle of Alice's training course, and it easily connects Spinward Fringe Broadcasts 10 and 11.

Alice is given a complex and secretive assignment: she is to review months worth of voice recordings, video and pictures taken by Noah Lucas, better known as Carnie, a member of the Samurai Squadron. The material was recorded while he was on Iora, a technically advanced world as the holocaust virus struck it. She is to review all materials and create a report that includes insights into the young pilot's personality, strategic information about Iora and any other details that could help Haven Fleet. Before long, Alice becomes personally invested in the plight of her subject, and makes discoveries that could change her forever.

Meanwhile, a permanent government is taking hold in Haven Shore, and the Fleet is undergoing one last shakeup that could break the Apex class apart. All the while Alice is left to wonder where her father and his ship, the Revenge have gone while they wait for the rest of their active fleet to return from the Iron Head Nebula.

The Spinward Fringe saga continues in Carnie's Tale, the connective tissue between Spinward Fringe Broadcast 10: Freeground and Spinward Fringe Broadcast 11: Revenge, telling Alice's story between those books from a more personal perspective.

As a side note, this story is written for adaptation into a 2 episode television script, so if you ever wondered what a special pair of Spinward Fringe episodes would look like after several seasons, this is a good chance to do that. I'll be writing more of these stories in the future, as the Spinward Fringe series has flirted with television adaptation more than once and I have many ideas for shorter books that have been waiting for years.

Carnie's Tale will be released on October 28, 2017 and is available for preorder now from:

Amazon US, Amazon UK, Amazon Australia, Amazon CA, and all other Amazon regional sites.
Apple iBookstore
Barnes & Noble
Kobo
Smashwords
...and several other ebook retailers.

Thank you so much for your support this year, I can't wait to get this story into your hands!

Spinward Fringe Broadcast 10: Freeground Available on December 11, 2016

Few Spinward Fringe books have taken over a year to write from the early planning stages to completion, but then, I don't think any other Spinward Fringe novel is like this one.

This was by far the most difficult to write in the series, that includes Broadcast 4 where I abandoned the manuscript for several months to do research and find my way again. Thankfully, Broadcast 10 was difficult for other reasons.

Anyway, Broadcast 10 was a fantastic, difficult challenge that may not be the largest book in the series, but I believe it's the most well developed, and well rounded. It's also more connected with the earlier novels.

I can't describe how much fun I had while working on this book, especially once I saw how I could fit all the elements of the story together. I really didn't want to leave the story once I was finished, so I'm not taking a break to write something else, I'm moving right on to Spinward Fringe Broadcast 11: Revenge.

Back to what I mentioned in the headline: Spinward Fringe Broadcast 10: Freeground will be available through all quality EBook sellers on December 11, 2016. It's currently available for pre-order through all EBook sellers (except for Amazon), so if you haven't already made sure that you will have your copy the minute it becomes available, then you can pre-order now.

Thank you very much for your patience this year. I hope you enjoyed the Chaos Core releases while you waited for Broadcast 10. It's a funny thing, every time I thank people for their patience on this blog, I get emails or other private messages from other writers who tell me that a year isn't a long time to work on a book. I'm glad they kept reminding me, and I hope they keep it up, because Broadcast 10 is so much better thanks to the extra time I spent on it.

Enjoy!

Cool Pursuit Is Available! Broadcast 10 Is Coming!

The files for Cool Pursuit: Chaos Core Book 2 were provided early to Amazon and Smashwords in order to get it into everyone's hands by October 21. As a result, most retailers already have it, with the exception of Barnes & Noble who tends to be much slower than all the others.

For anyone who doesn't know, this is the follow up to the first book in the Chaos Core series, which started with Trapped, a free novella. (You can get that for free anywhere eBooks are sold).

Chaos Core 2: Cool Pursuit is much larger, and shows us a larger piece of the Spinward Fringe universe as the main characters make their way through troubled territory.

Here's where you can get your hands on Cool Pursuit: Chaos Core Book 2:

Amazon.com
Amazon.co.uk
Amazon.ca
Amazon.com.au

Smashwords
iBookstore
Kobo
Barnes & Noble

Now that this book is completed and released, I'm devoting all my time to Spinward Fringe Broadcast 10. It's already the size of an average Space Opera novel, about 95,000 words, but there's a lot of writing to be done. My goal is to get it out for December 7, and to be working on Broadcast 11 by the time that is in your hands.

I'm more excited than I can express to be so close to finishing broadcast 10, I believe it's one of the best in the series, and it's been the most difficult to write because so much is expected of this novel. If you look to the upper right hand corner of this blog, you'll find several preview chapters. If you've already gone through those, I highly recommend checking out the Chaos Core books, Dark Arts or Brightwill. Most of those books are free, so what do you have to lose?

Thank you so much for your support, I hope you enjoy the books that are finally being released!

Release Date For Cool Pursuit: Chaos Core Book 2

On October 21, 2016, a very different science fiction space opera novel will become available.

The Chaos Core has the Spinward Fringe series to thank for its universe, but the values and motivations of the characters are often different. The same can be said for the environments they find themselves in and the interactions that take place. It's a novel where even the "good guys" are criminals, and where the bottom can fall out of any plan, no matter how short sighted or far reaching it may be.

Here's the synopsis:
Spin and her crew continue to elude their pursuers. Escaped slaves, they are hunted by law, begrudging masters, and shadow lurking hunters. It's a race to find a new ship and get out of the sector while the new crew try to find their places amongst each other. Revenge is on everyone's mind, but pursuing Captain White is an endeavour that could cost them everything. While her friends track him and ready their instruments of vengeance, Spin pursues a different kind of revenge, one that could separate him from everything he's worked for, but especially his great ship: the Cool Angel.

It's a longer book than the first in the series by quite a bit, qualifying as a short novel. According to the editor and test readers it's still fast paced, but an awful lot happens to the small group of survivors at the centre of the story. This is a book with great consequence, fun, and it explores part of the Spinward Fringe universe that the main series hasn't gone into at all but I've always wanted to get into.

If you haven't checked out Chaos Core Book 1, you can find it for free from most Ebook retailers.

The next book will be available in 2017, but first I'll be finishing Spinward Fringe Broadcast 10: Foreground.

Thank you so much for reading and buying my work. You can look forward to a couple of podcasts about the Chaos Core series before the focus moves back to the Spinward Fringe series for a while.

More! A Progress Update

Spinward Fringe, Dark Arts, Brightwill, and now the Chaos Core Series share parts of an ever-shrinking year.

I'm extremely fortunate as a writer not just because I make enough money to live on, but because my books receive increasingly positive reviews that most often end with; "now I just want to read more!" or "Where's the next one?"

While some people may see that as criticism, I see it as an invitation. The reviewers have paid for my work, read it and want another. That's an open door if I've ever seen one.

The good news is that I have ideas for all four of these titles, I even have ideas that are pretty much whole book outlines. The bad news is that it takes time to write, edit and get these to retailers, time which is absolutely finite. We're half way through the year now (roughly) and I've only managed to release one novella while I continue to work on Broadcast 10. Sure, there are at least two more books coming this year, but I know I'm not going to make my deadlines for Broadcasts 11 and 12 in 2016. There's still a chance Broadcast 11 will come out this year, but since I don't have any of that written yet, I can't make guarantees.

Looking over the history of this blog, I see a pattern. In January and February I always make some grand plans about how many books I'll be able to finish. Then, around June or July, I write a post about how I'm modifying my expectations and may make it through one or two books instead. This pattern comes up over and over, and I think I've finally learned my lesson. So, on to the good news and the annual adjustment of expectations...

In this year I can promise that Broadcast 10 will be released and it's going to be a large book with more than one story within. Broadcast 10 is really like two novels and a novella that are strung along one timeline and then trapped together in one book, that's one of the main reasons why Spinward Fringe novels take longer to write, but I know Broadcast 10 will be finished sooner rather than later.

Another Chaos Core novella called Cool Pursuit will be released this year, that's for sure. It's easier to write these shorter novellas with simpler story telling, so I can write Broadcast 10 and those at the same time for a while. Not forever, my brain needs some time to formulate new ideas, but for a few more weeks. Cool Pursuit will be in your faces sometime in 2016.

The Dark Arts sequel will make it's appearance this Halloween, or at least, I'm going to try my hardest to get that done. This isn't a guarantee. The first Dark Arts novel started with a simple plan, it was only going to be seven chapters, and then it got extremely complicated for a while before I got the story back under control. That's the tendency with these books, I'm sure, so who knows if I'll hit my deadline?

Regardless of whether or not I meet the deadline for Dark Arts II to come out at the end of October, I will be working on Broadcast 11 by the end of the year, probably at the beginning or end of September. Broadcast 11 will take less time to write than 10 because it will be a simpler novel that follows fewer characters and it won't be as long. In fact, I hope the days of writing long 140,000+ word novels are over for me for a few years because I find it's much more fun to write shorter works, and my finances take a massive hit if I don't release a book at least every six months.

In 2017 I'll be ready to write the second Brightwill novel, Broadcast 12 and another Chaos Core novella. the Brightwill and Chaos Core series' may end after three to four books each, that's the plan as it stands now. I would like to finish the Chaos Core series in 2017, and write another Dark Arts novel in addition to what I've already listed, but I'll have to see how it goes.

Overall, I'm really excited about the new, achievable plan, because I'll be bringing you more stuff overall, and I'll be writing different genres throughout the year. A quick recap is in order!

Spinward Fringe Broadcast 10: Freeground will come out this year (2016).
Cool Pursuit (Chaos Core Book 2) will also come out this year (2016).
Dark Arts II may come out this year if I finish the final draft in time for an October release.
Work on Spinward Fringe Broadcast 11 will start this year (2016).
If all goes well, more books will be released this year, but I believe I'll be busy enough with those aforementioned projects.

2017 looks like more Spinward Fringe, Brightwill, Chaos Core and maybe more Dark Arts.

I love writing this stuff, and I enjoy presenting it to you more than you know, so I truly want the same thing you want: more. What thrills me to no end is bringing you more and being able to make sure that it's more of the good stuff, not just another one like the last one, so that's what I concentrate on.

Spinward Fringe Broadcast 10: Freeground Requires More Time

** There will be no more release dates until the manuscript is complete. I apologize to anyone who wanted a firm date, but the work that this book requires far surpasses my original expectations, my adjusted expectations, and even my latest expectations. This is a big story made of smaller, interwoven stories that take a lot of thought and planning. The release date is now officially, "When I have a full draft." **

Below is a whole article as to why this delay is happening and what you can expect until then in terms of previews. The news is almost all good.

Spinward Fringe Broadcast 10: Freeground - a book with many stories and many characters.

There's the issue and at the same time the wonderful thing about this book. Some of the stories in this novel only occupy four or five chapters, while the main plots run the length. This book is about a pair of journeys that are very different from each other.

It really is like writing two 70,000 word novels with a few short stories peppered in to cover the events happening around those main pieces. Of all the novels in the Spinward Fringe series, this is by far the most complex. I have never attempted a novel that brings characters up from the distant past, covers so many sides of an adventure, and has an origin story running right through the middle. On one hand, it's exciting, on the other it's exhausting and terrifying. It takes much longer to plan, and I'm constantly rechecking the work to make sure it makes sense and is easy enough to follow.
.
The good news is that the work is going well, but more time is required. The release date is being set tentatively as March 28, because the novel requires the time. I've heard and read every comment that has come across social media and my webpage every time I push the date, and that's why I feel I can take an extra 14 days to get this out. Almost no one wants a rushed book, which is great.
.
I'm excited to bring this vision to you in its complete form, which means a lot more work on my part, and more patience on yours. On the brighter side, four more preview chapters will be released, one per week so you can get a good picture of what's to come.
.
This book will also include a character guide and a preamble that goes through the important facts about the story so far. From reactions so far, I can see a lot of people are really happy to see this, and I think it's important at this point in the series. Broadcast 10 is an important novel in the series, a lot changes over the course of this book, and Alice takes us through a major origin story. It's partly hers, it partly belongs to someone else, and that part of the novel is almost finished. It's huge, exciting, and I love it.

A lot of people have said that Broadcast 9: Warpath was one of the best books in the series, and I am doing everything I can to make Broadcast 10 live up to that standard even though it's a very different book in pace and style. I love this series, and Broadcast 10 is an important milestone, so I want to deliver an incredible experience.

Keep your eye on this page for preview chapters that won't spoil the whole book for you. They're there to show you what to expect, to give you a taste of the stories you have waiting for you a little further along in time.

Thank you again for your patience and for supporting me by buying and reading my books.

Spinward Fringe Broadcast 10: Freeground Delayed Until March 14, 2016

Spinward Fringe Broadcast 10: Freeground will not be ready by the deadline, which is February 5, 2016 - that's the date I have to hit with this draft so work can be done to prepare it for release on February 28. This book has been held back by timing, and by the need to develop stories worthy of the title.
.
Broadcast 10: Freeground is exactly like a two part conclusion to a series of television. We know the show is coming back next season, but that two hour season finale has to be big, it has to tie so many things together, and we have to see the best and worst sides of the characters we love and hate.
.
Broadcast 10 is also the beginning of something new, a fresh journey for Alice as she forges a new future.
.
The most challenging and complicated novels, the ones that have held up the Spinward Fringe series, have taken the longest to write, and Broadcast 10 is no different. I've said it before: this is a longer book than I expected, with more twists and turns than anyone will expect. This truly is like writing two novels, so I need more time. The idea of cutting the novel in half and releasing it in two parts has come up, and I don't think it suits this work.
.
I haven't been on social media much in January because I have been taking time to figure out many big questions about Broadcast 10, often taking time to clear my head while reaching for better ideas than I already had. I like where the story is going, but there is a better way to tell the tale, and now I've found it. Now I'm ready to write the second half of this book, but it is going to take time.
.
On March 14, 2016, Spinward Fringe Broadcast 10: Freeground will be available everywhere quality Ebooks are sold, and in print through Amazon. I feel defeated as I adjust that date for the third and final time, but this book especially deserves my best attention and effort. Writing a novel that follows after an eleven book epic is not easy, especially when the focus is on telling a better story with each one.
.

I promise an epic in Broadcast 10, and understand if you're disappointed or even outraged at a further delay. It will be worth the wait.

Until then, look for more preview chapters and other information here.

Spinward Fringe Broadcast 10: Freeground Final Release Date

The release date has been pushed again, here's the apology and post.

Spinward Fringe Broadcast 10: Freeground will be available through all major EBook retailers, and in print through Amazon on February 21, 2016.

I realise that this is a disappointment for many people who are waiting for this book, but it can't be helped. I simply need more time to write this novel, which is already almost 80,000 words at the moment.

I had a great holiday season with family and friends, but I wasn't able to keep a writing schedule through the time, so it set things back a bit. I don't regret taking personal time, or taking a week to think about Broadcasts 10, 11 and 12.

The first novella in a new Science Fiction series that will be attached to the Spinward Fringe series loosely has been finished. The mini-series will be set in the same universe, but at a great distance from where the Spinward Fringe series characters are located. I'll go into this more in a future post, but believe me when I tell you that developing these short novellas along side the existing Spinward Fringe series is critical to telling both stories. Building a new part of the Spinward Fringe Universe with new characters will only make things better for the main series.

So, taking more time to write Broadcast 10 is the best choice for the quality of the story, characterisations, settings, and even for research. I'm doing as much scientific learning for the next six books I'll be writing as I am developing fictional aspects of the universe - another thing that takes time, but will make things better.

The only negative part is how long you'll have to wait. I understand your frustration, so I'll end this post with some good news.

As planned, here's the rough release schedule for the next Spinward Fringe novels:

Spinward Fringe Broadcast 10: Freeground - March 14, 2016 (CONFIRMED)
Spinward Fringe Broadcast 11: Revenge - June 28, 2016 (UNCONFIRMED)
Chaos Core Broadcast 1 - August 28, 2016 (CONFIRMED)
Spinward Fringe Broadcast 12: Invasion - November 21, 2016 (UNCONFIRMED)
Chaos Core Broadcast 2 - To Be Announced / sometime in 2016
Chaos Core Broadcast 3 - To Be Announced / sometime in 2016 or early 2017

After speaking with everyone who will be involved in test reading, editing and formatting these books, I know these are dates that I can make. Confirmed dates are for books that are almost finished or already complete.

Thank you again for your support and patience, I'm looking forward to telling you amazing stories this year!

Improving the Spinward Fringe Series Going Forward

Mondays should only be for good news, so that's all  you'll find here. If you haven't read Broadcast 9, there are some things that won't make much sense at the moment, but you'll get there. There are NO spoilers ahead, so don't worry.

My plan for 2016 originally was to write two Spinward Fringe novels, a Spinward Fringe side novel and a short about Carnie, a pilot who who was featured in Broadcast 9. I also scheduled time to write a novel outside of Spinward Fringe, and that hasn't changed.

What has changed is that I'm already tightening up the story for Spinward Fringe. The short featuring Carnie is being written right now, because it's become a part of Broadcast 10. It's going to really improve a section of that book that (according to two local test readers) was already pretty good.

The other Spinward Fringe side novel I had planned also fits in with the events of the main story, so, instead of finishing two Spinward Fringe novels and a side novel, I'm going to finish three Spinward Fringe novels and another book outside of the Spinward Fringe universe - it may be Brightwill, it could be Dark Arts, I'm not sure yet.

All of the upcoming books are entered around the nine sector war, and we'll get to see the universe as it is after the holocaust virus in a very direct way. I'm very excited about this phase of the Spinward Fringe saga.

So, the Spinward Fringe series gets less confusing today, you'll be getting bigger, better books and more of them!

Now, back to work on Broadcast 10, I'm almost a quarter of the way through it at this point. The January 28, 2016 release date is written in stone at this point, I'll definitely hit it.

Spinward Fringe Broadcast 10: Freeground Will Be Delayed

This is a larger book than I anticipated. My initial goal was to plan and write a book that came in at around 100,000 words in approximately 30 days.

While I know I can still make the word count goal, I am sure that once I reach it the book will not be complete. That means there will be no way for me to publish this novel on December 21, 2015.

I need time to write a novel that will probably come in at 150,000 words minimum. This is an important book in this story, so I'd also like to slow down a little and take the time to do more planning so the final story is more refined and enjoyable.

Another important factor in all this is editing. The last book went out without a final check because it was rushed out, so there are errors that will be corrected this December or sooner. Thankfully Broadcast 9 is a much loved volume in the series, but it still deserved a little more time. I don't want the same thing to happen with Broadcast 10, so giving myself some more time to do editing is really important. Backtracking, correcting errors in previous books slows work on new books and other projects down.

I'll be honest, I really wanted Broadcast 10 out right before or right after the new Star Wars movie, but rushing things will only result in an inferior work, so that's not going to happen.

So, what kind of delay are we looking at?

I expect to have a very good, longer version of Broadcast 10: Freeground out on January 28, 2016.

The good news is that work on Broadcast 11: Revolution will already be underway by the time Spinward Fringe Broadcast 10: Freeground is out, and both books will be much longer than originally planned. Both books tell the story of our favourite characters in a time of absolute war, and will offer the kind of stories I've been looking forward to telling for years.

I am sorry that things are going to be delayed, but the results will be so much better this way

Dark Arts Is Finished!

Some people waited since late 2009 for this book to arrive, and I'm proud to announce that it will be available on October 31 in EBook form at the most popular online retailers (Amazon, iBookstore, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and a few others).

You can already get your hands on a printed copy here:
Createspace
Amazon.com
Amazon.co.uk

The process of developing this book alone was a massive learning experience. The research took a lot of time because it's set in the real world, in a real (but fictionalised) place, during a real time in our history.

Many of the rules of the real world have big influences on the occult content too, which required even more research into law enforcement and medicine.

I couldn't start writing until I had finished five different outlines, and I had to online again three times while work was underway. This is a process that shortens the whole process of writing a book by doing drafts in point form that encompass all but the finer points of the work. It really tightens up the story, but it's one of those processes that really works well if you stick to it all the way though.

Writing the book involved taking a journey that was sometimes ill-fated for characters that became favourites of mine, but there was no room for favouritism. I also used a style of writing and storytelling overall that I started developing as a teen, but didn't continue into my thirties, so the book doesn't resemble anything I've ever written. I didn't feel out of place writing in that style either, and I learned a lot by changing things up.

I enjoy dipping into other genres, I learn a great deal every time I do, and that makes me a better writer regardless of what genre I'm working in. I'm pleased with the story that's delivered in this book, and hope you enjoy it.

The test readers who took this journey with me were a massive help as well, there is one plot hole in particular that I didn't see, and they reported back with its exact location and measurements so I could plug it up. I have to thank them for taking this ride with me, it was a good experience.

Watch for this to appear at your favourite EBook retailer, I think it'll be a good read for Halloween!

Spinward Fringe Broadcast 10 Release Date Announcement

The response to Spinward Fringe Broadcast 9: Warpath has been solid, with just over seven hundred preorders in the first ten days. That may not be New York Times Best Seller big, but it's a fantastic start by my standards.

Work on Broadcast 9: Warpath is almost complete, and there's great news - it's longer than expected by about ten percent or more. As I've said before, I've been enjoying the work on Broadcast 9 so much, that I don't want to stop writing. So I won't.

After Spinward Fringe Broadcast 9: Warpath is complete, I'll be taking a short break to finish work on another novel called Dark Arts, which has been a project I've touched on and off for several years, starting in 2009. It's time to finish that. Most of the work is already done.

After that, I'll be getting to work on finishing Spinward Fringe Broadcast 10, which will take us into the middle of a war. I deeply enjoy writing this series, and I have to write Broadcast 10 before turning towards the next Brightwill novel.

With the work I've already completed on Broadcast 10 in mind, and the plan already on the board, I'm comfortable announcing that the release date for Spinward Fringe Broadcast 10 will be December 14th, 2015. Yes, that's right, it's going to be late this year.

A preview chapter, or chapters for Broadcast 10 will appear in Broadcast 9: Warpath, so you'll have some idea what you'll be getting yourself into.

I'm eager to get the story that many of you have been waiting for, the war the Spinward Fringe series has been headed for, in front of you, and I'm excited that most of my year will be spent writing this series.

I'l be working on Brightwill II early in 2016, then I'll be back to work on another Spinward Fringe Novel, and possibly another Dark Arts novella after that. It looks like I've got my schedule all set until 2017, that is, if you're still reading.

Thank you for all your support so far, I hope to provide you with many hours of entertainment in the coming months, and the coming years.

Spinward Fringe Broadcast 9: Warpath Release Date

The release date for the next Spinward Fringe Novel - Broadcast 9: Warpath, is September 7, 2015. Preorders are available now through smashwords here: https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/558258

I'm having so much fun writing this book that I'll probably have mixed feelings when it's finished. That's just more motivation for me to work on Broadcast 10 though, so it works in your favour all around.

I hope you've been enjoying the preview, you can look forward to the next chapter this Sunday. Until then, I'll announced when different retailers make preorders available.

Thank you so much for your support!

Brightwill Release Date and Other Details!

The final release date for Brightwill is set for November 7. It's five weeks later than I would have liked, but it's the release date I can guarantee, as opposed to one that may become a struggle to meet.

A printed version will be available through Amazon on the same day if there are no printing issues on their end. It will include 4-5 illustrations inside the book by Marcus Froment.

A month or less later, a signed 8.5" x 11" version that will include over twenty illustrations will be made available through my site. I'm still figuring shipping to UK out, but I'll have something set up by then, even if it isn't ideal.

The illustrations that will be included are black and white, in a style reminiscent of adventure novels released around the 1900's. Many adventure novels had an illustration at the front, and a few in the middle depicting key scenes, characters and locations. A few even had a "farewell drawing" at the end, often featuring the comedy relief character or the belle of the book.

The picture I'm sharing with you today is of my deks with some of the images waiting in line to be scanned.

I'm really looking forward to sharing this with everyone, and I'll have the cover ready soon!

Spinward Fringe Broadcast 8: Renegades Release Date!

I just finished writing the end of Spinward Fringe Broadcast 8: Renegades. It's not the ending I expected when I started writing the book, but I think it's so much better. No spoilers here except to say that I'm very pleased.

Now that I know I'm happy with the ending and I've spoken to everyone else involved with the production of this book, I can make another announcement.

The book is still in need of another edit, and I'll be working on that with Sylvie as well as another editing partner. Then it will be sent off to one formatter for Ebook distribution, and another for print. The distributors will have to approve it after that. They will point out technical issues (if there are any), and we'll fix 'em then be ready.

After adding some wiggle room for schedule snafus, I'm setting the release date of the Ebook version of Renegades for Friday, March 21, 2014 for $4.99 through Amazon, Smashwords, the iBookstore (Apple), Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Sony Reader Store, Diesel, Page Foundry, Flipkart, Scribd, and Oyster.

Sadly, there will be no freebie codes or preview editions.

There will also be a special release through my own website that will include exclusive digital bonuses and a version of the Ebook for all readers. The Special Release will cost exactly the same as the normal Ebook version of Renegades, but it will only be available through www.spinwardfringe.com.

There will be a signed print edition available in April as well, and that will include the same content as the Special Release on a USB key that will ship with the signed printed book.

So, again, Renegades will be released on Friday, March 21, 2014 in Ebook form and in print sometime in April.

Thank you so much for buying my books and supporting me, I hope this book isn't surpassed by it's hype. It's something I'm proud of and I hope you all enjoy it!
